Hello, My name is Leah. I am currently a student at Rhode Island College studying SED English and Special Education. The purpose of my blog is to track my ISearch and how the evolution of technology in the classroom has changed teaching writing and student's learning. I hope to discover, along my journey, that new technology has improved the quality of student writing.
This is a very interesting topic. My school is looking into MACBOOKS in the next few years. Your cousins story is one I hear often having students in the West Warwick school system using similar iPads to complete all work on. I wonder if it has both its advantages and disadvantages. Some students may study better on an iPad simply because it looks “cooler” than a regular school book, but I wonder if student writing will be put to the test, not having pen to paper. I am looking forward to the rest of your research and you’re interviews with teachers using this technology on a daily basis. Good luck! I thought our video was very well done, and not just because we used the same template :)
